top7.au is an independent tech review site built for Australians. We cut through the noise and rank the 7 best products in each category — split into Premium, Best Value, and Budget tiers — so you can find the right gear at the right price, in AUD.

We're based in Australia and we buy, test, and compare products the same way you would. No brand pays for placement on our lists. Our rankings are based entirely on performance, value for money, build quality, and availability in Australia.

Our Methodology

For each category, we evaluate dozens of products across multiple criteria. Here's how we arrive at our top 7:

  1. Research — We review manufacturer specs, professional reviews from trusted Australian and international publications, and aggregate user reviews from Amazon AU and other retailers.
  2. Scoring — Each product is scored across 3-5 category-specific dimensions (e.g. Sound, ANC, Comfort, Value for headphones). Scores are out of 10.
  3. Tier assignment — Products are grouped into Premium (no compromise), Best Value (sweet spot), and Budget (best for the price) tiers.
  4. Australian availability — We only rank products that are readily available on Amazon AU with reasonable shipping to Australian addresses.
  5. Regular updates — Rankings are reviewed regularly to reflect new releases, price changes, and updated user feedback.
